Domain Name Registration Domain name registration is your website's address to the rest of the world. Your Domain Name starts with www, which stands for "world wide web". The second part of the domain name is the unique name, such as "SpiderWebsiteDesign". This name cannot have any spaces or other punctuation other than dashes "-". The domain name is not case-sensitive, so the following domain names are all valid and will get you to the same website: www.spiderwebsitedesign.com The last part of the domain name is the extension. Generally speaking, a business or company should use the .com extension. Several other extensions are available also: .org for organizations, .net for networks, .biz for businesses, .info for information, .us for United States, & others. There are several domain extensions that are not available to the public, such as .gov for government, .edu for educational institutions, and .mil for military.
